There’s no need to buy any fancy bad breath tests to be able to do a bad breath test, either, so if you really need one you can do it without any fancy materials at all. By far the most common bad breath test requires only your hand, in fact – no other equipment is needed at all. Most people just cup their hands over their mouth and nose and exhale through their mouth, trapping their in the pocket between the mouth and hand. Your hand traps the air there, giving you a chance to smell it and make sure that your breath isn’t bad.

Of course, there are multiple other methods of checking to see if you have bad breath. Another more common test is one that occurs when someone just licks the back of their hand and waits about ten seconds for it to dry. Once it’s dry, smell that to determine if your breath is bad; if it smells, you need to brush your teeth. However, if it turns out that you do have bad breath, it could be a sign that you have some sort of sulfur imbalance in your mouth, since it has to be a bit stronger to smell it like that.

There are also other methods of bad breath testing that involves simple things like dental floss or gauze. First, take a piece of dental floss and floss your back teeth (this is the best area because food often gets stuck there) and then once you’re done, smell the string to see if you have bad breath. You can also use regular gauze and wipe it across the top of your tongue and smell that once you’re done with it as well. No matter what type of test you choose to employ, you’ll need your nose to really determine if you have bad breath or not!
