It is something that some people may not admit to you but which you will probably soon realize on your own when people are standing farther and farther away from you.

1) Foods That Cause Bad Breath

Food is one of the most common causes of bad breath and this could be in a couple of ways. If you are not brushing your teeth often enough there could be pieces of food that are stuck in between your teeth and over time bacteria will grow and cause a bad smell. This is why it is so important to brush after every meal and floss as well if you can. Garlic and onions for instance will leave a powerful smell in your mouth so it is important to brush and even floss if you can after every single meal.

2) Poor Hygienic Habits

Poor hygienic habits in general may be the reason for bad breath. Brushing and flossing on a regular basis no matter what foods you eat is important.Brushing and flossing helps remove pieces of food left behind and also plaque.Anyone who wears dentures should have a schedule for cleaning their dentures set up so they do not forget.

3) Frequent Smokers

Smokers usually have bad breath because of the chemicals that are contained in cigarettes. They basically smell like an ashtray and no one wants to kiss or come close to someone whose mouth smells like that. Once you have figured out what the cause of your bad breath is, you can get to work on treating it. Once a person has determined the cause of their bad breath they can start to take action against it.

Treating Your Bad Breath Problem

You can start chewing mint flavored gum which will give off a nice smell but this only lasts for so long. Mouthwash is often effective at treating bad breath by killing bacteria and leaving a fresh minty or other scent behind in the mouth. Chewing mint or fruit flavored gum can also help to cover up bad breath but only temporarily. In some cases the condition may be more serious and this is when you will need to get in to see your doctor so they can assess the situation and figure out what is wrong.
