Computed tomography angiography (CTA) is a computed tomography technique used to visualize arterial and venous vessels throughout the body. This ranges from arteries serving the brain to those bringing blood to the lungs, kidneys, arms and legs. The 64 Slice Insta Heart Scan is a non-invasive , state-of-the-art imaging system that combines rapid X-ray scanning with multi-detector computed tomography (CT) to produce without any intervention , the most detailed images available of the heart’s arteries . Patients receive an injection of contrast dye to highlight the blood vessels and X-rays create images of the heart in slices. A computer aids to assemble the slices into an image of the heart that reveals calcium and fat filled plaques lodged in the arteries .
